1 dead in possible street-race; Second car sought

Conditions of 2 other victims unknown

ORLANDO, Fla. – Two people were injured and one was killed early Monday in a crash during a possible street race in Orlando, authorities said.

Police said Daniel Guerrero, 25,  was driving a white Honda Civic with passenger Raul Vega, 26, when he struck a concrete power pole around 3 a.m. on Colonial Drive just east of Bennett Road, forcing officials to close the roadway.  It reopened about four hours later.

28-year-old Manuel A. Faria Vazquez was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with Guerrero and Vega, where he was pronounced dead at around 7 p.m. Monday. The conditions of the other victims were not immediately known.

A witness told authorities he saw a black or green Honda Accord quickly change lanes before the white Honda crashed into the power pole. That car continued to travel on East Colonial Drive, according to the report.

Police are continuing to search for the Honda Accord, which is described as having High Intensity Discharged headlights.
