2 teens killed in I-95 crash in Daytona Beach

Florida troopers investigate accident

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Two teens were killed and three other people were injured in a three-car crash on Interstate 95 in Daytona Beach, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An 18-year-old Bunnell man whose name has not been released and Meredith Smith, 17, of Palm Coast, died in the crash, which occurred about 10:15 p.m. Thursday on I-95 southbound near State Road 40.

Troopers said three vehicles were traveling south on I-95 and collided in the left lane.

According to the FHP, Tuesday Coulter, 20, of Bunnell, was a passenger in the 18-year-old's 1999 Ford F-150.  She suffered serious injuries.

Troopers said Louis Prinzo, 22, of Ormond Beach, who was driving a four-door 1996 Ford, was critically injured in the crash and taken to Halifax Hospital.  He was not wearing a seat belt, the FHP said.

The third vehicle was a 1991 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Doron Lyn, 30, of New York.  He suffered critical injuries and also was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation.
