Kala followed her passion to tell great stories on air by covering a variety of extreme weather, crime and politics in the Massachusetts area. After a three-year stint of anchoring and reporting in Massachusetts, Kala was led to the Carolinas, where she anchored the weekend newscasts at the ABC affiliate in Charlotte.

Kala joined WKMG Local 6 in December 2010, and she is prepared to take on the Sunshine State's winter chill, as a Connecticut native.

Kala is thrilled to hit all the beaches on the Florida coastline and explore all that Central Florida has to offer.

When Kala is not in the newsroom, she loves to travel and cook. Tip her off on a great restaurant and she's there!

You can catch Kala Rama weekday mornings on the Local 6 Morning News, and if you have a story you want Kala to tell, please email her at or visit her Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
