Women out their believe it's just a legend. But girls it's true. It's not just the size. It's the ability to have a spin and dry cycle and the ability to whip up a good goddamn froth.
Gene Simmons
Hi, I'm Gene Simmons and you're not. And I'm here to take your questions right here. iReport, CNN.

Your wife Shannon wants to adopt for quite a while, she brings it up every once in a while, you and both your children are against it. I want to know why you don't think it's a great idea.
Gene Simmons
it has to do with the idea that children are not toys and they're not pets. both Shannon and I, but especially Shannon, raised in my estimation, two perfect children who are now charming young adults who are making their own way into the world. as our children were home less and less, we started to get more and more pets. But adopting a child is not like getting a new pet. And I don't know if I have the wherewithal and the free time to be around and raise a new child. I just don't think I have the energy and KISS is currently touring and we're doing our TV show and a child wouldn't get the amount of love and care that it should have.

Who or what influenced you so that you did not get involved with drugs or alcohol like other Rock legends?
Gene Simmons
As a statement of fact, I have never been high or drunk in my life. Yes I know, I look like one of those guys that, yeah. Happened not to be. But that's a personal life decision that I have and I'll tell you why in all seriousness. I'm an only child and my mother, I worship the ground she walks on, is a concentration camp survivor, Nazi Germany's World War 2. Our entire family was killed off in the gas chambers of Nazi Germany. There is nothing that I would do ever to break my mother's heart. That's my biggest inspiration and she continues to inspire me every day.

What got you interested in science fiction and what were the inspirations for your sci fi fanzines?
Gene Simmons
Boy, that's pretty good.
When I was 13 and 14 years old, I actually used to write, edit and publish, physically publish my own fan magazines, fanzines as they were called. Cosmos and Tinderbox and other fanzines. They were sci-fi fantasy and reviewed movies and there was fiction and even comic books in them. And I physically and literally typed mimeograph carbons, And the inspiration for that was really just the notion that I wanted to create something myself from scratch.
It's like the male version of giving birth. We can't give birth but we can create things. So the fanzines are still there, as a matter of fact, my entire collection is in the Time vault of the University of Wisconsin. It will be opened in 2050. Thank you for the question.

Do you have any rituals before going on stage, and what song do you consider your masterpiece and why?
Gene Simmons
Rummel, thank you for that question. The truth is that the same ritual that we started with almost 40 years ago We physically and literally have put on the makeup every single time, there's never been makeup people on the sides, and the process takes about 2 hours.
And the great KISS masterpiece, well Rummel, they're all masterpieces, you know that.
