A 16-year-old student riding a bicycle to school was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning near Pine Ridge High in Deltona, according to deputies.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. on Howland Boulevard between Fish Hawk Road and Goldenhills Street.
The student was struck while he was riding in a crosswalk in front of the school, Volusia County sheriff's deputies said.
The student was taken to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial with non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the teen was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk.
