Ping knows sports! And you can catch Sports Director David Pingalore only on Local 6 News.

Ping has an extensive sports background and has covered every kind of sport you can think of for over a decade, from the National Winners of "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to Olympic Gold Medalists. Why? Because he is truly a sports fanatic.

Ping comes to Local 6 from WOIO-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was the weekend sports anchor for two years.

David is no stranger to the Sunshine State.

He started as an intern at WTVT-TV in Tampa, Fla., where his first assignment was a road trip to an NFL football game in San Francisco.

David got his big break and first on-air job at WJKS in Jacksonville as weekend sports anchor, and he was able to be a part of the Jacksonville Jaguars first year in the NFL.

In 1997, Ping moved to Johnstown, Pa., as sports director, covering Penn State football and later moved to Scranton, where he covered Super Bowl XXXIX, when the Philadelphia Eagle played for the first time since 1981.

Ping is a graduate of Jacksonville University where he played Division I golf throughout his entire college career.

Catch Ping weekdays on Local 6 at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.
