Do you want to work on software that will impact millions of people online? Are you innovative, imaginative and interested in creating the next generation of Internet and Mobile experiences for Local TV News stations? Post-Newsweek Stations, the parent company of WDIV/ClickOnDetroit.com, KPRC/Click2Houston.com, WPLG/Local10.com, WKMG/ClickOrlando.com, KSAT/KSAT.com, and WJXT/News4Jax.com, is looking for skilled developers to build the next generation of digital interaction between people and their local TV stations.
The Role

- You’ve worked with jquery or backbone.js or any number of other frameworks, and you probably have strong opinions
- Can communicate with technical and non-technical people alike, to show both technical command and functional command of what you are doing
- You’re an owner: once something is assigned to you, it is not just a task, it is a mission, and the end goal is to deliver something great that wows our customers
- You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of frameworks, and help decide which ones we use next
- Most of all, you care about online news and the future of journalism
Qualifications
- Ability to create an interface using JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Experience with user interface and user experience (UX) design

- Knows how helpful JSLint can be, sometimes
- Comfortable with server side templating languages (e.g. Python, Java, Ruby) and ability to dive into controller/view code when required
- Plays with new technologies, localStorage, geolocation, CSS transitions and transformations
