Jessica D'Onofrio

Jessica D'Onofrio is one of the lead reporters for Local 6 News at 11 p.m.

Among other stories, D'Onofrio has broken several major exclusives in the Casey Anthony case. She was first to report that Anthony was going to be indicted for first-degree murder and she has been ahead on the forensic details from the beginning. Her work and insider's knowledge on the case has been featured on The CBS Early Show, CNN, CNN Headline News, The Nancy Grace Show, The Dr. Phil Show, Larry King and The Jane Velez Mitchell Show.

D'Onofrio covered the last two weeks of Terri Schiavo's life near Tampa in 2005 just after joining Local 6. She went on the road with the Maitland All-Stars to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. She also followed the Florida Gators to Phoenix for the BCS Championship game in 2007.

In 2008, D'Onofrio was nominated for a regional Emmy for her work on her continuous coverage of the brush fires in Palm Bay.

D'Onofrio also serves as a fill-in anchor for Local 6.

Before joining the station, D'Onofrio worked at Fox Indianapolis affiliate WXIN-TV, where she reported and fill-in anchored. During her time with the Fox affiliate, she covered the Indianapolis 500, an AFC championship game, major tornadoes, floods and ice storms.

D'Onofrio won a first place SPJ award in Indianapolis for best feature story on water therapy for dogs.

Before joining WXIN, D'Onofrio worked as a bureau chief and anchor for WHOI-TV in Peoria-Bloomington-Normal where she covered union strikes at the Mitsubishi plant, insurance issues at State Farm's corporate headquarters and the state capitol when Barack Obama was a little known state lawmaker.

Prior to moving to Central Illinois, D'Onofrio began her broadcasting career as a part-time news writer for Fox affiliate WFLD-TV in Chicago.

D'Onofrio attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and received her master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.

At Medill, she served as a Washington, D.C. correspondent for KSNT-TV out of Topeka, KS, covering the Clinton administration and the Capitol.

D'Onofrio serves on the board of directors for the Victim Service Center of Orange County.
