Vending-machine pizza? How does that taste?

Central Florida Zoo opens 3rd pizza vending machine in state

SANFORD, Fla. – The Central Florida Zoo recently opened a Pizza Touch machine, a vending machine that dispenses ready-to-eat pizza.

The machines first appeared in Italy and have recently come to the U.S. The zoo's is the third of its kind in Florida.

"The United States is the No. 1 consumer of vending machines. It is also the No. 1 consumer of pizza and fast food," said Giselle Sandra, spokeswoman for Pizza Touch.

Pizza Touch offers hot, personal-sized pizzas that are available in two minutes. Customers have a choice of three different toppings, including cheese, vegetarian and four-cheese.

"Some people try it and say, 'I can't believe that tastes so good, it comes out of a vending machine!'" Sandra said.

News 6 anchor Justin Warmoth gave the pizza a try and rated it a 10 out of 10.

Sandra said that the company is working on providing pizzas with more toppings in the near future.

A 9-inch pizza costs $6 and a 13-inch pie costs $7. They can be purchased with a credit card or cash.
