Daytona Schools To Close Early Before Race Traffic

Seven schools in Volusia County, Fla., will be closing early Thursday so students and teachers can travel home before Daytona International Speedway traffic begins to build, according to Local 6 News.

The Advanced Technology Center and Palm Terrace Elementary will close at 11 a.m. Thursday. Atlantic and Mainland high schools will be closing at 11:40 a.m.

Campbell Middle School will let classes out at 12:40 p.m.

Chiles Academy and Storefront School East will also be closed early.

The qualifying races for the Daytona 500 begin Thursday.
