Spielberg Earning College Degree
Degree Comes 34 Years After He Left School
Spielberg will graduate from California State University, Long Beach in a couple of weeks -- 34 years after he dropped out to start his film career.
The director, who's helmed such classics as "E.T.," "Schindler's List," "Jurassic Park" and its sequel, "Jaws," and "Saving Private Ryan," had a year left to earn his degree when he left the school.
Spielberg earned the credits he needed during the past year by writing papers and working on independent projects.
He said he'll attend commencement on May 31, but doesn't want any special attention.
Spielberg's next film, the Tom Cruise futuristic crime thriller "The Minority Report," debuts in theaters June 21.
