During the '64 / '65 television season, the first part of 1965 brings Joe Namath to the NY Jets, Martin Luther King Jr. begins a drive to register black voters, Winston Churchill dies, Cassius Clay becomes a Muslim and adopts the name Muhammad Ali and Beatles begin filming the film "Help".  During these events people still relied on television to cope and to escape.
