Live on Letterman - Wilco

About the Band:
Wilco was founded by Jeff Tweedy in 1994 after the dissolution of his previous group, alt-country standard bearers Uncle Tupelo. From its raucous roots-rock origins, Wilco has expanded its sound over the years to encompass classic pop and genre-spanning experimentalism. In their 17 years as a band, Wilco has been nominated for five GRAMMY® Awards and won two in 2005, including Best Alternative Music Album and Best Recording Package for A Ghost Is Born.

The Whole Love, which hits stores on Tuesday, Sept. 27, is the third album by Wilco’s present lineup, which solidified in 2004 when avant-garde guitarist Nels Cline and guitarist/keyboardist Patrick Sansone joined bandleader Jeff Tweedy, founding bassist John Stirratt, drummer Glenn Kotche and keyboardist Mikael Jorgensen. The Whole Love captures the vibrant energy the band brings to its live performances and features 12 stunning songs that showcase Wilco in a new light, through bold rock, somber acoustic ballads and punchy pop songs.

The band’s official website – -- has the latest news about Wilco’s activities, including videos, photos, music, message boards and a store. The site also has their tour schedule, which includes September-October stops in Boston, New York, Columbia (MD), Raleigh, Atlanta, Nashville, St. Louis and Madison, plus late November-December stops in Dallas, Austin, Kansas City, West Des Moines, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Detroit and Chicago
