James Bond party and block parties galore

Whether you are ready to say goodbye to everything 2016 brought upon the world or fearful of what the New Year may bring, celebrating Dec. 31 is a good reason to gather with friends and family creating new memories with which to start out the next 365 days.

On Saturday, we will saw good-bye to the year that was and say hello to 2017. Where will you be when the ball drops? Here are some options across Central Florida that offer something for everyone from street parties to kid-friendly, early-bedtime kind of affairs:

Enzian's James Bond New Year’s Eve Party

That’s Bond, James Bond. The Enzian Theater in Maitland is hosting their James Bond New Year’s Party again for those who want to celebrate Jan. 1 with a little suave. The $99 general admission includes an open bar, snacks and a live DJ.

Guests should come “dressed to impress” in their best James Bond-inspired attire.

Orlando Science Center New Year's Eve balloon drop (at noon)

The science center will host a New Year’s celebration for the kiddos who can’t stay awake for the big ball drop. Ring in 2017 with fun activities and a balloon drop at noon on Dec. 31. The event is included in the price of OSC admission, $19.95 for adults and $13.95 for children older than 3.

Visitors will make the celebration memorable by creating their own noisemakers and party crowns before the balloon drop.

Where: Level 4 of the Orlando Science Center, 777 E. Princeton St., Orlando

When: 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. Saturday

Kids’ New year’s Eve at Legoland Florida

Watch the giant LEGO brick drop at a kid-friendly time at Legoland Florida. Legoland will host a New Year’s Eve dance party at the Technic area and as the park closes at 8 p.m., a giant brick will drop in front of the fireworks show marking the 2017 at a good time for parents and kids.

Access to the celebration is included in a park ticket.

Where: 1 Legoland Way, Winter Haven, Fla.

When:  Saturday, Dance party from 5 to 7 p.m. and fireworks at 8 p.m.

Church Street block party and Orlando orange drop

Who wants to watch a ball drop when you can celebrate Florida style with an orange drop? The annual New Year’s Eve block party on Church Street continues this year. Tickets start at $39 and include access to three downtown bars, live entertainment and a fireworks show at midnight during the Orange Ball drop from Latitudes’ Skytop.

Where: 33 West Church St.

Thornton Park New Year’s Even Street Party

Close out 2016 with a block party in Thornton Park hosted by Otown Happy Hour at the new Graffiti Junktion location.

General admission is $10 online or $25 at the door. VIP tickets with an open bar start at $65 online and $100 at the door.

The party includes a champagne toast, a fireworks show and several guest  DJs, according to event planners.

New Year’s Eve block party on Wall Street

The annual downtown Orlando block party always promises a good time. Get tickets in advance for $25 or $30 the day of the party. The event includes access to eight bars inside Wall Street and for the football fans, access to the College Football Semi Finals games on TV.

Five Star New Year's Eve at I-Drive 360

A Brazilian-inspired dance party will come to I-Drive 360 for the first time. A $290 general-admission ticket will get you access to entertainment and a fireworks show. General admission includes open bar and an annual VIP pass to the Orlando Eye.

Guests are asked to wear white and gold to the party.

Player 1 Video Game Bar New Year’s Eve Party

Ring in 2017 with more games than your two thumbs can handle at Player 1 Video Game Bar. Drinks are half off until midnight and admission includes a champagne toast, party favors and live entertainment.

EVE party at Universal CityWalk

Universal CityWalk clubs will host a “mind-blowing” New Year’s Eve celebration. EVE ticket admission includes access to six CityWalk clubs, wearable LED wristbands, live music, unlimited food, a pyrotechnics display and a midnight champagne toast.

General admission tickets start at $139.99.
