Photos: History of a key
Our tour of the Florida Keys ends with a look at historic Pigeon Key. This 5-acre island was home to the construction workers building the seven mile bridge for the Florida East Coast Railway. After the construction the island was home to bridge toll and maintenance workers. You can get to the island two ways, one walk the two mile stretch over the old bridge or take a quick boat ride. Today the island is home to a museum and park areas to spend a lazy day in the sun. If you're into history or trains, this is a must see on the tour of the keys. Enjoy!
