The Blue Ridge Parkway

77 years ago, construction began on an idea to create a link between the Shenandoah National Park and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. That idea was the Blue Ridge Parkway. Part of on effort to provide jobs during the great depression this roadway can inspire awe and wonder. Filled with beautiful scenery the parkway is home to hiking trails and campgrounds along the peaks of the Great Smoky Mountains. After spending a week in the area, I can tell you that many Floridians travel here for vacation. Sometimes you find more cars from Florida than North Carolina. There's a reason, check it out....
