‘Star Trek: Discovery' coming to CBS All Access in September

‘Star Trek: Discovery' takes place 10 years before Kirk

A premier date has been set for the CBS "Star Trek" spin-off coming to the network’s online audience this Fall.

"Star Trek: Discovery" follows a new storyline of the Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds 10 years before Captain Kirk, according to CBS.

The show starts Sonequa Martin-Green, best known for her role on AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” and Michelle Yeoh as Captain Georgiou. Rain Wilson (“The Office”) will also be in nine episodes.

The premiere will air September 24 on CBS and stream on the CBS All Access app at 8:30 p.m. After the first episode, the other 14 episodes will be released in two chapters exclusively for CBS All Access subscribes in the U.S. The first chapter concludes Sunday, November 5 and the season will resume in January 2018.

In Canada, the show will air on the Space Channel and stream on CraveTV. For the rest of the world, the show will be available on Netflix starting Sept. 25.
