ORLANDO, Fla. -

SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Parks announced that they are doing away with plastic bags.

In a news release, the parks announced they will eliminate plastic shopping bags within the next year. Instead, park gift shops will offer paper bags made from 100 percent recycled paper, or guests can purchase reusable bags.

SeaWorld Orlando is eliminating its plastic bags this month as it opens its newest attraction, TurtleTrek.

TurtleTrek combines a 3D, 360-degree dome theater film with sea turtle and manatee habitats. It opens Friday.

Parks are also using paper cups instead of plastic ones.

The commitment is being made at all 10 theme parks in the U.S.
