BENNINGTON, Neb. -- A product called the
Powerhouse scrubber claims it has 101 uses to clean your house, so Omaha, Neb., television station KETV gathered up some testers and put the as-seen-on-TV product to the test.
The cost, with shipping, for the scrubber is just under $30, and its needs four AA batteries, which are not included.
Mary Sauter, of Bennington, gave it a whirl.
"If it can make my life a little easier, I'm all about that," Sauter said.
The scrubber comes with three brush heads. Each works for different jobs. A yellow brush cleans carpet stains. Sauter whipped up a homemade mixture of vinegar, water and dish soap and started scrubbing. In less than a minute, a stain in her carpet was gone.
"I would give it, on the stains on the carpet, an A-plus," Sauter said.
Next, Mary grabbed the orange brush to clean her bathroom tile.
"I like how the brush angles because it can get in the little spots a normal brush can't get into," Sauter said.
The blue utility brush is meant to clean jewelry. This time, Sauter is not as impressed.
"I don't think I'd buy it to specifically clean my jewelry," Sauter said.
Overall, Sauter liked the product. Her tests showed that the three included brushes aren't for the "101 uses." For more uses, there is an optional $13 brush set.
