DENVER -- Between trying to figure out what to cook and then actually going grocery shopping, planning a family meal every single day is tough -- especially if you're looking for variety.
Two Denver-area moms hope to take the stress out of working in the kitchen by using a Web site to help them plan meals, television station KMGH reported.
"I often go to the grocery store, buy all this food and think, 'I don't have anything to make for dinner,'" said Holly O'Connor.
Like many mothers, O'Connor has a hard time planning family meals.
"We usually have traditional hamburgers, spaghetti, burritos -- then rotate those again," she said.
To change up the menu, O'Connor tried
Relish -- a Web site to help plan meals. It features different ideas each week.
"Every night at 5 o'clock, we'd stare down at the refrigerator and say, 'What are we going to have for dinner?'" said Ann Bender, co-founder of Relish.
In just four simple steps, you can be on your way to a less stressful kitchen experience.
Simply log on to Relish, subscribe, click on your weekly menu and print it.
On the printout, there is a detailed grocery list to help you shop faster. Relish also promises to keep your budget under $80 a week for your five meals.
"Everything you buy from Relish you use," said O'Connor.
"It's 30-minute prep or less -- very few ingredients. Try to keep everything simple gourmet," said Karen Hutcherson, co-founder of Relish.
Relish has easy-to-follow directions, even for those who don't like to cook.
The Web site has cut down time in the kitchen for mothers like O'Connor.
"You have a plan, and when you have a plan, it makes it easier," she said.
Every recipe is tested before it's considered a "Relish meal."
You can get a free trial for a week by going to the Web site. Upon subscribing, it will cost $6 a month.
