Authorities in Osceola County, Fla., are searching for a man who shot and killed a Checkers restaurant manager during a robbery at the Old Town tourist attraction, according to Local 6 News.
Witnesses said a man walked up to an order window at the restaurant located off Highway 192 in Kissimmee, Fla., and demanded money.
During the robbery, the man fired a gun at manager Betty Jane Wise, 56. Wise died early Thursday after being transported to Celebration Hospital.
There is no surveillance video of the shooter but police are interviewing restaurant employees to get a better description of the man.
"The information about the suspect right now is pretty general," Osceola County Sheriff's Capt. July Rivers said. "We are working on trying to get more. The witnesses tell us that the person was a dark-skinned male, Hispanic or possibly a black male."
The man was last seen in a black nylon jacket, a gray shirt and a black bandana around his neck.
If you have any information about the crime, you are urged to call Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS.
