Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup turns 80

It's been a staple for years, and many keep it stocked in their pantries year round-Campbell's® Chicken Noodle soup.

This month, turns 80, just in time for National Soup Month and the peak of soup season.

Originally known as Noodle with Chicken soup, the name change to Campbell's® Condensed Chicken Noodle soup was a result of an advertisement on a popular radio program when one of the famous on-air personalities misread his copy and called the product Chicken Noodle soup. Within days of the slip, Campbell began receiving large orders for its new product as it began flying off shelves.

This household staple filled with homemade flavor, hearty chicken and 32 feet of noodles, has been satisfying stomachs since 1934.

Some fun facts:

• Americans purchased over 200 million cans of Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup in 2013

• Andy Warhol painted the famous 32 Campbell's Soup Cans in 1962.

• Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup has remained a Top 10 shelf-stable grocery item purchased in the U.S. since 1934
