Antidepression Drug OK'd For General Anxiety

Lexapro Previously Used To Treat Major Depressive Disorder

If you feel anxious or worried all the time, the Food and Drug Administration has approved a new drug that could help you.

It is an antidepressant called Lexapro. Previously only used to treat people with major depressive disorder, now it can treat generalized anxiety disorder.

People with the condition worry about everyday events or activities.

Patients say they felt the difference the first week they took Lexapro and there are few side effects.
