Free Flu Shots In October

Get Healthy Florida and Good Neighbor 6 are kicking off another free flu vaccination campaign in October with more dates and more locations in 2004.

Here is the list of flu shot locations:

Wednesday, Oct. 20
Downtown Disney area -- 8 a.m. -- 2 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 22
West Oaks Mall -- Noon to 6 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 23
Waterford Lakes Florida Hospital Centra Care -- 8 a.m. to 2 p.m

Friday, Oct. 29
Osceola Heritage Park -- Noon to 6 p.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 8
Sand Lake Florida Hospital Centra Care -- Noon to 6 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 10
Altamonte Mall -- Noon to 6 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 11
Airport Florida Hospital Centra Care -- 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

NOTE:

Currently, per recommendation by the CDC and Orange County Health Department, flu shots will go to those at high risk for getting the flu.

Those recommendations are:

All adults aged 65 and over

All children aged 6-23 months

Children 2-18 who must take aspirin regularly

People aged 2-64 years with chronic health conditions (for example, diabetes, heart or lung disease)

Pregnant women

Residents of nursing homes and long term care facilities

Caregivers and those who live with an infant aged less than six months (too young for vaccine)

Health care workers who provide hands-on patient care
