HALIFAX, Canada – Getting rid of a tattoo may soon get easier, thanks to the work of a Ph.D student in Canada.

Alec Falkenham says he created a tattoo removal cream and recently inked a deal with a big pharmaceutical company.

Falkenham says with his cream soon to be on the market, the days of laser tattoo removal are numbered.

"Even if it's not this cream, there's one that's going to be right around the corner," Falkenham says.

Falkenham's bisphosphonate liposomal tattoo removal goes after the cells that absorb the tattoo ink, kills them and the blood sends in new clean cells to replace them.

Falkenham recently signed a deal with Cipher Pharmaceuticals and says it's up to the company to get the product through clinical trials, develop a patent and mass produce it.
