A 47-year-old Geneva man was killed Wednesday morning when he lost control of his pickup truck on Interstate 4 in Seminole County and crashed into a pole, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 7 a.m. on I-4 eastbound near State Road 436.

According to the FHP, the pickup was traveling in the inside lane of I-4 when the driver, whose name has not been released, lost control for an unknown reason and the vehicle drifted onto the shoulder.

The front of the truck then struck a pole and the driver was later pronounced dead at South Seminole Hospital, troopers said.
