WASHINGTON -- Consumer safety officials have announced recalls of thousands of juicers, children's folding chairs and kids' spray foam.
Juicers
There are 117,000 juicers being recalled, manufactured by Aroma Housewares. They are all model AJC-250.
The Aroma Juice Extractors' filter and lid can break apart and send metal and plastic debris flying.
The company previously recalled 40,000 juicers in 1999 for the same problem, and some of the ones currently being recalled were replacements for the originals. Thirty-two people have been injured by the juicers. For more information, call 1-800-276-6286.
Folding Chair/Coolers
Hilton Hotels is recalling about 27,000 children's folding chairs it gave away between May and June of this year. The Vacation Station chair doubles as a cooler, and came in purple or green.
Kim Dulic, of the consumer safety agency, says a 2-year-old boy's finger was severed when one of the chairs collapsed. For more information, call 1-877-221-2424.
Spray Foam
Finally, 296,000 cans of children's spray foam are being recalled. The aerosol "Smatter" foam, which is often used at birthday parties, can explode when it gets too hot.
Only early production cans with the date codes "0492PT" to "0952PT" are being recalled.
Eight reports of the containers bursting in hot cars have been received by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, with one minor injury. For more information, call 1-800-554-5516.
