Apple unveiled Monday what it calls the world's fastest personal computer.
There will be three configurations of the 64-bit PowerMac G5 series computer, with the least expensive selling for a suggested price of $1,999, and a high-end model going for $2,999.
The computers are the first personal computers to have 64-bit processers, rather than the standard 32-bit, according to Apple.
"The 64-bit revolution has begun and the personal computer will never be the same again," Apple Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs said.
The company also introduced the first non-beta version of its new Web browser, Safari, which will now be the default program on new Macs.
The company says Safari is faster than any other browser for Macs, and some Apple-centric sites have reported that more than 40 percent of their visitors are now using the program. It is available as a free download.
Apple also released iChat AV, a program designed to make video and audio conferencing easier, as well as iSight a FireWire camera smaller than most cell phones. iChat AV will work with any FireWire digital camera.
The announcements were made at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.
