MIAMI -- Those involved in the Free Trade Area of the Americas meetings include:
Kathryn McCallion, Canada's vice minister for trade, current chair of the FTAA negotiationsVice Chair Jorge Guillermo Campbell, vice minister for trade in ArgentinaThe Trade Negotiations Committee (TNC) made up of trade ministers from all the participating countriesAn administrative secretariat who provides logistical and administrative on-site assistance, translation and interpretation; maintains, publishes, and distributes all official documents; and reports directly to the TNCThe Tripartite Committee that provides technical and logistical assistanceThe Committee on Electronic Commerce that examines issues affecting electronic commerceThe Consultative Group on Small Economies that represents the concerns of smaller countriesThe Committee for the Participation of Civil Society receives and presents input from concerned sectors of civil society regarding the FTAAThe committees do not have the status of negotiating groups.
There are nine negotiating groups dealing with specialized areas:
Market Access Agriculture Government Procurement Investment Competition Policy Intellectual Property Rights Services Dispute Settlement Subsidies, Antidumping and Countervailing Duties
