A 19-year-old man faces charges Thursday for allegedly stealing musical instruments from Stetson University and selling them on an auction Web site, according to police in Deland, Fla.
Authorities were investigating a report of several incidents of theft at Presser Hall involving the University instruments when they received a tip that a student was apparently selling large amounts of musical instruments on eBay.
Detectives interviewed Anatoli Seinczenko, 19, who reportedly confessed to stealing over $20,000 worth of instruments and property. The former Stetson student also told detectives that he was using eBay to "fence" stolen property, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.
A search of the student's residence discovered approximately $10,000 worth of musical instruments.
In addition to the stolen property, marijuana, methamphetamines, weighing scales, and packaging material used for illegal drugs were seized from the Seinczenko's apartment.
Investigators said Philip Anthony, 23, may also face charges in connection with the case.
