Motorcyclist killed in crash, closing I-4 in Seminole County
Van rolls over trying to avoid wreck; Florida Highway Patrol investigates
A motorcyclist who witnesses say was traveling at least 100 mph was killed early Friday when he crashed into the back of a pickup truck on Interstate 4 in Seminole County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Timothy Lea, 44, of Sanford, was killed in the crash, which happened around 2:15 a.m. on eastbound I-4 near State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs. Lea was ejected in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.
The FHP said Lea struck the rear of the truck, which was driven by Aaron Fish, 52, of Waynseville, N.C. Fish was not injured.
A van driven by 19-year-old Brandon Henry, of Orange City, trying to avoid the crash but hit the motorcycle and rolled over. None of the three van passengers was injured, the FHP said.
I-4 eastbound reopened around 7 a.m.
