'Medical call' prompts return of Disney Fantasy
Cruiseliner is set for a 7-day cruise
Officials say the Disney cruise liner Fantasy had to immediately turn around and head back to Port Canaveral shortly after taking to the sea due to a "medical emergency."
The ship returned to port because a 6-year-old boy on the cruise ship suffering from diabetes and needed to be transported to a hospital, said Port Canaveral spokeswoman Rosalind Harvey.
Once the ship had returned to port, a 77-year-old man complained of chest pains and was also transported to a hospital, Harvey said.
The ship was only delayed for a few hours before setting sail for the second time around 8:30 p.m. to continue on its scheduled 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise.
