1 arrested, 1 sought in New Smyrna convenience store robbery

Clerk knew 2 of 5 culprits, police say

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – New Smyrna Beach police have issued warrants for the arrest of two people in the robbery of a convenience store.

Thomas Clark, 40,  was arrested by Holly Hill police on Friday. Heather Ann Kinnard, 31, has a warrant out for her arrest but has not been located.

Police said a dark vehicle with 5 occupants in it drove up to TK's Right Stop on N. Dixie Freeway at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, went into the store and started verbally and physically fighting with the clerk.

During the confrontation, one of the culprits "subdued the clerk," while the other jumped over the counter and stole the cash box, according to police. They then drove away, police said.

Police said they believe the clerk knew two of the culprits, but it's unclear how. They were originally looking for five suspects.
