APOPKA, Fla. – At least one person died on Thursday morning in an Apopka crash involving a stolen truck.
Police said they received a report of a stolen vehicle just before 3 a.m. on Thursday and as they were meeting with the owner of vehicle, they spotted the truck on the road. Authorities said as they began to follow the vehicle, it hit the curb and lost control, flipping over before hitting a light pole and a fence.
Authorities said the crash occurred on U.S. 441 at Lake Avenue
One person died in the crash and the other ran away, police said. The search continues for the man, described as a white male wearing a white T-shirt.
The identity of the person who died has not been released.
