KISSIMMEE, Fla. -

Kissimmee police continue to unravel a mysterious double shooting that left one person dead and a woman shot and calling 911 for help.

Police are still not saying exactly how it happened or who fired the shots, but what Local 6 has learned from neighbors is who lives in the home at 501 Poinsettia Lane.

"I didn't hear [any] gunshots or anything, came out here and police were in full effect," said Michael Fouts, who watched as police stormed into his neighbor's house, and feared a shooter could be running loose.

But as officers roped off the area with crime tape, neighbors learned whatever happened inside the house was isolated and under control. Kissimmee police said they were not searching for anyone else in connection with the shooting.

A woman called 911 around 5 p.m. saying she had been shot, according to KPD spokeswoman Stacie Miller.

Officers rushed in, found the caller alive and she was airlifted to a local hospital in stable condition.

They then found the alleged shooter had died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.

Police will not say if the woman or the shooter live at the home or how they are related. Police are not saying if this is a domestic shooting, if the shooter knew the victim or if there were any signs of forced entry into the home.

"It's unbelievable," said Kate Inman, who knows the elderly woman who lives in the home.

Inman said she has a male companion who has raised concerns.

"We have heard him, when he would be there, yelling at her in a hateful way," said Inman. "[I] don't know if that was the person that did this or not."
