DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -

One person was injured after a shootout at a McDonald's restaurant in Daytona Beach on Wednesday evening,.

It happened on Clyde Morris Boulevard, just east of the Daytona International Speedway, where crowds were already gathering for Saturday's Coke Zero 400.

Police said a gold car, possibly a Pontiac Sunfire, was in the drive-through at McDonald's when a silver car, possibly a Honda Civic, pulled up and someone inside the silver car started shooting.

Police said a shooter in the gold car returned fire, and Davonta Mitchell, 19, who was riding in the silver car, was injured.

Mitchell was dropped off at Halifax Health. He was released late Wednesday but police said he is not cooperating with the investigation.

Stray bullets also hit two vehicles parked at a nearby Sprint Store.

Police are looking for both vehicles involved in the shooting.
