1 new Zika case reported in Orange County, 1 involving pregnant woman

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – One new case of the Zika virus in Orange County was reported Monday by the Florida Department of Health.

Four additional new cases of the virus, including one involving a pregnant woman, have been reported elsewhere in the state, the department said.

Two members of President Obama’s cabinet visited the state on Monday to highlight steps that Americans can take to protect themselves against the virus.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell and U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy met with Mayor Teresa Jacobs at Orange County Mosquito Control.

The total number of cases in Florida is 310, with another 48 cases among pregnant women.
