1 person hurt in shooting at park, Orlando police say

Victim found on Piedmont Street, few blocks away from Poppy Park

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police are investigating a shooting that happened at a park Saturday afternoon.

It happened around 5:20 p.m. Saturday at Poppy Park in the 5400 block of Lescot Lane.

Police said the victim, described as a juvenile, was later found on Piedmont Street, which is a few blocks away.

The victim was struck once in the leg, police said. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.
