Search Continues For Autistic Boy

POSTED: Sunday, October 8, 2006
UPDATED: 12:52 pm EDT October 9, 2006

Authorities in Orange County, Fla., are searching for a 5-year-old autistic boy who vanished from his mother Sunday, according to Local 6 News.

The mother of Aaron Campbell said she left the boy in a vehicle Sunday morning while she ran into his grandmother's home at 12547 Westhope Drive in Orange County. She said when she returned, the boy was not in the vehicle.

Aaron can hear but does not talk, police said. He also will likely not respond to his name and "likes to run."

The Sheriff's Office deployed a blood hound, helicopters and ground personnel in an effort to find Aaron.

Officers were also checking nearby bodies of water in the search Sunday night.

Anyone with information concerning Aaron's whereabouts is urged to call the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
