Police in Casselberry, Fla., are searching for a man who used a box cutter to escape a Target store after he was caught on video stuffing at least one cell phone down his pants at the business, according to police.
Investigators released surveillance video of a man in a black outfit at a Target store in Casselberry using a box cutter to take a cell phone out of its box. He was then seen putting the item down his pants, the report said.
A short time later, video showed the man being confronted by security at the front of the store.
"He pulled out the box cutter and told them he would cut them if they don't move," Casseberry police Lt. Dennis Stewart said. "He began to run at them while swinging the box cutter."
The security guard jumped out of the way and the man fled.
"Any time someone is willing to threaten to do harm and physically walk toward them, he is an individual with special concern to the police department and someone we think needs to be off the street."
"That's why police are still worried that if this guy strikes again, he will use the box cutter again," Local 6's Erik von Ancken said.
Police said they believe the man drove away in a red, early 1990s Dodge.
Anyone with information concerning this crime is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
