ORLANDO, Fla. -- An Orlando woman accused of putting her baby in an oven was released from jail on Thursday.
Sharlyn Singh, 29, had nothing to say when she was released, according to Local 6 News.
Police said Singh is now on home confinement.
Singh was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated child abuse on Monday after she put her 11-month-old baby in an oven, which was turned on, and left her apartment, police said.
The baby was found by the child's uncle, who was helping his brother, the baby's father, move out of Singh's apartment.
"I was scared because I've never seen something like that before," Morris Naraidoo, the baby's uncle, said. "(The baby's mother) had a few drinks, and usually when she drinks, she gets a little drunk and (starts) acting crazy."
Police told Local 6 News that the baby could have easily suffocated in a matter of minutes.
"If I wasn't here then, it could have been dangerous," Naraidoo said.
Police said they found grease from the oven on the baby's hand and clothing.
The child is OK and is now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
