UPDATED: 12:40 pm EST January 16, 2007

A man attempted to lure two girls into his pickup on Saturday in Sanford, according to Seminole County sheriff's investigators.

The girls told investigators that they were riding their bikes just north of State Road 46 near Oregon Avenue and Orange Boulevard around 5 p.m. when a man approached them and asked them to get into his truck so they could get some ice cream.

The girls refused his offer, and the man drove away, according to sheriff's investigators.

The man was described as white with dark hair. The girls said he was wearing a white baseball-type cap and a black tank-top at the time of the incident.

The vehicle he was driving was described as a silver pickup.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to call the Seminole County Sheriff's Office at 407-444-0567.
