Pit Bull Jumps Through Car's Window, Attacks 11-Year-Old

Child Says Attack Was Not Provoked

An 11-year-old boy in Orange County was injured Wednesday night when a pit bull jumped through an open car window and attacked him, biting him several times, according to a Local 6 News report.

Police said Sahdariae Franklin was attacked in a parking lot at the Tuscany Village apartments located on Holden Avenue in Orange County.

Franklin said the dog jumped at him and attacked for no apparent reason.

"I thought it was going to hurt," Franklin said. "I (knew I) would have to get more stitches."

The pet dog, named Fatal, was seized from its owner Wednesday night.

The owner, who was only identified as Flow, said he feels bad for the child but believes the dog was provoked.

"The dog was being tormented by the kids," Flow said. "They were yelling and throwing rocks at him and he got off the chain."

Franklin's mother, Irene, said the dog is known to be mean and she has warned the owner about the animal.

"He teaches the dog to be fatal and the dog's name is Fatal," she said. "I hope they kill (the dog) and I'm pressing charges to the fullest."

The dog will be quarantined for 10 days to determine if the dog is rabid. After the 10 days, animal services will determine whether or not to put the dog down, Local 6 News reported.

It was not reported whether charges would be filed in the case.

The boy was recovering from the attack late Wednesday.
