WEBSTER, Fla. -- Authorities in Central Florida serving a federal search warrant in a child pornography investigation Friday morning discovered a house of filth in which a toddler and infant were living, according to a police report.
Corey James Cassels, 23, and Hannah Michelle Cassels, 18, were arrested and charged with child abuse after Sumter County sheriff's investigators along with FBI agents searched their house, which is located at 4941 SW 125th Road in Webster.
As deputies entered the singlewide mobile home, they observed it to be in a totally filthy state, according to the report. The flooring was covered with clothing and the house was filthy with dirt and grime and there were multiple flies within the residence, deputies said.
A 10-month-old boy was found in a crib, and posters and a calender of naked women were above the crib on a wall, according to the report. There were multiple Playboy magazines in the house and several posters featuring naked women covered the bedroom walls, deputies said.
The kitchen was littered with dirty dishes, and the refrigerator was filthy with spoiled and rotten food, deputies said.
Knives were also within the children's reach, according to deputies.
The infant and a 3-year-old girl were both covered with dirt, according to the report. They were put in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
FBI agents seized the Casselses' home computer for investigative analyzing.
Possible federal charges are pending, agents said.
Bond for the Casselses was set at $5,000 apiece.
