12-year-old girl robbed, beaten while walking home from Kissimmee school

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A 12-year-old girl walking home from school in Kissimmee had her cellphone stolen out of her hand by a 21-year-old woman and was also beaten by two other girls, according to police.

Juanita Davis was arrested Wednesday on charges of robbery by sudden snatching, assault, child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to Kissimmee police, the girl was walking home May 6 when Davis asked to use her phone.  The girl refused, but Davis snatched the phone from the girl's hand and refused to give it back, police said.

Davis' 17-year-old boyfriend then brandished a gun at the victim, and as the girl tried to flee the area, two other girls jumped her and beat her, according to police.

Davis was arrested and taken to the Osceola County Jail ,where she was held on $18,000 bond. 

The boyfriend was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a concealed firearm and possession of a firearm by a minor.  He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
