Suspicious letters sent to several employees forced officials to shut down a building at the Kennedy Space Center Wednesday.

Local 6 News reported that the Operations Support Building located next to the Vehicle Assembly area was locked down after workers noticed a strange residue on six letters.
The letters were reportedly sent to employees on the building's fifth floor from a known company located in New Jersey, according to authorities.
All employees were ordered to stay inside the building during the initial investigation, according to Local 6 News.
Kennedy Space Center workers notified their supervisors and the NASA Air Force Emergency Response Unit responded.
The envelopes were taken to a lab for testing.
