Although Shawn spent time growing up in Mexico City, she still says she considers the Big Apple home and that a part of her heart lies in the city where it all started for her in TV.She began her broadcasting career working as a page at CBS, ripping scripts for Dan Rather and working behind the scenes at "The Late Show With David Letterman."This Motor City native came to Local 6 News from Albany, N.Y., where she was a morning reporter/anchorwoman for the CBS affiliate. She reported for FOX 31-WUHF in Rochester, N.Y., before her Albany job.She remembers where she was when Princess Diana died, John F. Kennedy Jr.'s plane disappeared, and Hong Kong was turned over to the Chinese. These news stories were some of her favorites to cover.Shawn lives for international travel, speaks fluent Spanish and loves "tacos al carbon!"As for her hobbies in Florida--she needs to find some! She says that it's been awhile since she has lived in year-round gorgeous, sunny weather.Shawn is also a big supporter of the arts, especially the Very Special Arts Organization created by the Kennedy family as an outlet and springboard for artists living with disabilities.You can watch Shawn every morning on Local 6 News.
