Officials said that 2,000 pounds of cabbage were dumped into the giant ring this year and mixed with 10 gallons of Wesson oil before the competition.
The women, dressed in bikinis, wrestled in the coleslaw mixture for a grand prize of $500.
"It's slimy and oily, it's gross," one wrestler said.
An estimated 15,000 people turned out to see the matchups.
"The big ones tire out, so the small girl does have the advantage," fan Ron Luzner said.
It is the 12th year the contest, which at times can become X-rated, has been held in Daytona Beach.
