ORLANDO, Fla. -- Investigators have been unable to determine what exactly the 69 orange pills are that were found in former astronaut Lisa Nowak's car when she was arrested, although they have ruled out illegal drugs, according to a report released Wednesday.
A report prepared by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement described the pills as "unknown tablets" but said they were not contraband under Florida law.
They were "nothing that would make an eyebrow go up," said Danielle Tavernier, a spokeswoman for the State Attorney's Office.
Nowak was arrested in February after police said she drove from Houston to Florida to confront Air Force Capt. Colleen Shipman in a parking lot at the Orlando International Airport.
Authorities have said Nowak, 43, had had an affair with Shipman's boyfriend, astronaut Bill Oefelein.
She pepper-sprayed Shipman through a partially lowered car window, an arrest affidavit said.
Police said they found a BB gun, new steel mallet, a knife and rubber tubing in Nowak's possession.
Nowak pleaded not guilty to attempted kidnapping, burglary with assault and battery.
NASA released Nowak from the astronaut corps a month after her arrest.
Her trial has been moved to September.
