A flood of e-mails poured into Local 6 after Steven Cooper's report on apparent problems with Dodge Ram dashboards.
Monday night, Cooper reported that several owners of 2001 Dodge Rams claim the dashboards on their vehicles are mysteriously collapsing or cracking, possibly putting their lives in danger.
Minutes after the report aired, Central Floridians who said they were experiencing similar problems began to e-mail Local 6.
A viewer from Chuluota, Fla., said she is having the same dashboard problems.
"I have a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup. My dashboard has (been) cracking for over a year. I bought the truck new from Winter Park Dodge," another Central Florida viewer said.
"I just wanted to let you know that we own a 2003 Dodge truck and its dashboard is cracked too," another viewer from Casselberry said.
Dodge owners who would like the government to know about their case, they are urged to click
Safercar.gov and file a complaint.
Customers are urged to call 800-992-1997 to report any concerns.
Cooper said he is compiling records of apparent problems to send to Dodge and viewers can e-mail him at
